Solutions for the quarrying & mining sector
Lifting & Handling
Our journey in the mining sector began with our Lifting Gear Products division who supported the British Coal Board for over 30 years up until its dissolution in 1987. We provided all the chains, hoisting and ancillary handling equipment for the coal board, as well as servicing intense maintenance contracts to keep Britain’s power running. We are immensely proud to have been part of this storied part of Britain’s industrial history.
In more recent times, we have been supporting a variety of nationwide and international quarrying and mining outfits to ensure they have the equipment necessary for the rugged and intensive nature of their work. From premium European manufactured hoists, chains, shackles and lifting eyes; to custom designed beams, grabs and concrete handling equipment, all designed to last a lifetime.
Casting
Our brass foundry has supported mining applications for over a century before becoming a part of the Europa Group. In the dangerous classified atmospheres of the mining world, our spark-resistant brass castings ensure the safety and well-being of both the mine and miners.
From spanners to lamps we take on all challenges and utilise our open die forging and green sand-casting capabilities to produce both one off and bulk items. Despite the pit closures, our foundry continues to support international mining operations to this day.
Conveyor Systems
Our qualified engineers develop tailored conveyor systems with optimal material flow in mind. From handling coal to aggregate and stone, durability and reliability is essential, which is why all our conveyor systems are designed and fabricated with the utmost care to ensure they are suitable for the high volume of material and intensive environment the sector presents.
Inspection & Repair
Our repair and refurbishment services for quarrying and mining equipment include pre-inspection, testing and certification by LEEA-trained engineers on lifting and handling tools, meeting all legal and safety standards.
We are able to support national inspection and service contracts for all equipment falling under LOLER or PUWER with a team of expert engineering inspectors and fitters. Whether it be cranes, loose lifting equipment or lifting and handling machine. We hold a healthy stock of spares for most major brands ensuring seamless turn around time for repairs, minimising your downtime and preserving your production schedules.
